USING FRACTIONS

Year 3 children need lots of practice using fractions in everyday life - dividing sweets, sharing toys, sausages, fish fingers, cutting up cakes, pizza etc.

Can you do it?

Draw a pie that has been cut into quarters.

Draw a cake that has been cut into tenths.

Draw a sandwich that has been cut into halves.


Year 3 children should be familiar with these:

days of the week
months of the year
seasons

and these terms…
(check your child can use them correctly.)
day, week, fortnight, month, year, century
weekend, calendar, date
morning (a.m.), afternoon, evening (p.m.) midnight.
earliest, latest
